What is this Lifestyle Protection Insurance?

Monster Insurance is a trading name of FIUK.com Ltd which is an Appointed Representative of Columbus Travel Insurance Services Limited. We have teamed up with Columbus to offer you Lifestyle Protection Insurance which protects you and your family should you become ill or lose your job. It covers you for a wide range of regular commitments from your mortgage or rent, loans, your insurance premiums, Sky TV and even gym membership. You can protect up to 90% of your net monthly income up to a maximum monthly benefit of £3000.

Am I eligible?

In order to qualify customers must satisfy the following simple criteria:
• Aged between 18 and less than 63 on the start date of the policy
• In full time work (16 hours a week or more) and living in the UK
• Not off work due to ill health
• Must have regular, identifiable financial commitments (see below)
• Unaware of any impending unemployment, or potential failure of the self employed persons’ business

What common exclusions do NOT apply to our policy?

• Hobby or job exclusions
• Backache exclusion
• Cosmetic or elective surgery exclusion
• HIV or Aids exclusion
• ME or Post-Viral disability exclusion
• Dismissal exclusion

How much benefit am I allowed?

You can protect up to 90% of your net monthly income to a maximum monthly benefit of £3000.

What financial commitments can I cover?

The plan covers all of the regular major financial commitment that customers may wish to protect.

100% of the following may be covered:
Mortgage payments, rent on your home and loan repayments secured on your home
Motor finance, personal loans and hire purchase payments
Alimony payments, child support, council tax, water rates, gas bill, electric bill and other heating costs
Home insurance, car insurance and life insurance payments

25% of the following may be covered:
Pension plan, school fees, child care fees, medical cover, home breakdown cover and car breakdown cover
TV licence, gym/sports club, cable/sky, broadband bills, home & mobile telephone bills and other includable commitments

5% can be added for miscellaneous regular expenses.

Can I choose an 'Unemployment only' policy?

Yes, there are three cover options:
• Accident, Sickness & Unemployment
• Accident & Sickness only
• Unemployment only

Can self employed workers join the scheme?

Yes, all three classes of workers are welcome:
• Employees
• Self employed
• Contract workers

When does cover cease?

We confirm the details of your cover on an annual basis but premiums are collected monthly. For every month that you honour your Direct Debit we may automatically renew your cover.
All cover under this policy will end and all monthly benefits will stop:
· At 65 or when you reach Government retirement age
· When you fail to make any payments due
· When you retire
· When you ask us to cancel which you can do without notice at any time
· If we give you notice that the cover is to end

Are the benefits tax free?

Under current legislation all benefits are free of tax. If any amendments to legislation were to change the non taxable status of this cover we would deduct any monthly amounts required by law at that time.

How do I cancel this insurance?

You have a 30 day cooling off period and if you cancel within that time any premiums taken will be refunded. Once the 30 day cooling off period has elapsed you must give the underwriters written notice of 30 days however no cancellation fees are imposed irrespective of when you cancel.
